

Medical Insurance
Walker provides four choices of health care coverage for employees and their dependents through Medica.
Dental Insurance
Walker offers employees and their dependents dental insurance coverage through Delta Dental.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Eligible employees may participate in the Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA’s) for daycare reimbursement as well as for medical and dental expenses not covered by insurance coverage. Participation in this pre-tax plan will increase take-home pay.
Flex Hours
Eligible new employees start earning (accruing) flex hours immediately. Sick and vacation time are placed into one account, the “Flex Hours” account. Flex hours are accrued based on number of hours worked and eligible to be used after six months of continuous employment.
Holiday Pay
Six paid holidays are offered to eligible employees.
Life Insurance
Walker offers employer-paid basic life insurance and voluntary supplemental and dependent life insurance coverage.
Long-Term Disability Benefit
Employees are offered an option to purchase a Long-Term Disability Benefit.
Retirement Savings Plan
Most commonly known as a 401(K) Plan, this is a voluntary pre-tax retirement savings plan. Employees may contribute up to the lesser of (a) 100% of their compensation into this plan (less any mandatory or elective salary reductions, payroll deductions, or tax withholding) or (b) the maximum amount determined for each year.
529 College Savings Program
The MN 529 College Savings Program allows employees to save money for higher education expenses for themselves or their child.
Tuition Reimbursement
Qualified employees pursuing “degreed” course work relevant to their current positions are eligible to request tuition reimbursement for pre-approved classes. Full-time employees may qualify for up to four credits per term and regular part-time employees may qualify for up to two credits per term. The reimbursement rate is based on comparable course rates at the University of Minnesota.
Continuing Education
Nursing professionals may earn free Continuing Education Credit Hours by participating in a variety of training opportunities conducted on-site, off-site and through self-study modules. All sessions are taught by highly-skilled educators. Some of the sessions include:

Student Loan Repayment Program
Full-time nurses who work at Walker for at least six months may be eligible to participate in the Student Loan Repayment Program.
