Care Settings

Long-Term Care

Long-Term Care

A bit more intensive than independent living and assisted living, long-term care refers to a continuum of medical and social services designed to support the needs of older adults living with chronic health problems. These problems may affect their ability to perform every day activities such as eating, bathing, dressing, or getting in and out of bed or a chair. The need for long-term care often stems from disability, chronic illness, or cognitive impairment.

Inpatient & Outpatient Rehab

Physical, occupational, and speech therapies are available seven days a week at Walker Methodist, with individuals receiving therapy as many as six days a week. Depending on the type of care needed, the length and involvement of rehabilitation programs will vary. Some routines involve re-teaching how to perform certain actions and some routines focus on compensatory strategies.

Transitional Care

Transitional Care

Transitional care communities are designed to assist with short-term healthcare and rehabilitation services, generally following an acute health-related event, while you regain your full health before returning to your previous living situation.
