Learn more about Planned Giving
The Walker Methodist Foundation Heritage Society honors those who have named Walker Methodist Foundation in their wills or have named Walker as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, an IRA, or a pension fund.
Also honored are contributors who have funded a charitable gift annuity or placed assets in a charitable trust, which not only meet personal income needs during their lifetime, but also benefits Walker in the years ahead. These visionary contributors to Walker will maintain income streams as long as they live, with the knowledge that Walker will receive the balance of these assets upon their death.
We encourage you to let us know when you include Walker Methodist Foundation in your estate plans. Not only can we express our appreciation and honor you with membership in our Walker Methodist Foundation Heritage Society, we can make sure you are kept up-to-date on all developments at Walker Methodist.
Have you named Walker Methodist Foundation in your estate plans? If not, please contact the foundation office for more information about providing a future gift to Walker.
All donations to Walker Methodist Foundation are important and appreciated. However, certain gifts uniquely impact Walker and the seniors we serve. Sometimes referred to as Planned Gifts, these donations are also called deferred or estate gifts.
Bequest
A bequest can be listed within a will, or it can easily be added as a codicil. The bequest can be for a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the residual of your estate.
A bequest can be expressed in the following way: “I give to Walker Methodist Foundation, 3737 Bryant Ave So, Minneapolis, MN 55409, a ____percent of my estate, or the sum of _____ dollars.”
Beneficiary Designation
One of the easiest ways to make a substantial gift to Walker Methodist Foundation is to name it as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement account. You can make Walker Methodist Foundation the sole beneficiary or you can designate a portion of the proceeds. Contact your insurance agent or retirement account administrator for more information and to obtain the proper forms.
Life Estates
This is a creative way to make a substantial donation to further the work of Walker Methodist Foundation while receiving benefits at the same time. If you own your home, vacation home, farm, or other property, you can continue to use the property as long as you wish – and receive immediate income tax benefits. Donate the property to Walker Methodist Foundation, but retain the right to use it for life. After your death, ownership rights are transferred to Walker Methodist Foundation.
The materials listed on these pages are for your information only. When considering making a charitable gift, you should contact your tax, legal, or financial advisor. Walker Methodist Foundation does not render legal, tax, or other professional services.
