Volunteer Opportunities...
Whether you're 13 or 93 years old, there are many ways you can share your time and talents with residents of Walker's housing, assisted living, and health care communities. Your involvement will help residents maintain connections with the larger community and broaden intergenerational understanding. Also, you'll have the opportunity to benefit from the wisdom of Walker's residents as well as the satisfaction of knowing you have contributed to their more enriched lifestyle. There are many opportunities for you to participate. Call any of the Walker communities to express your interest in volunteering.
Here are just a few volunteer opportunities that are available through Walker Volunteer Services:
- Activities Assistant—help bring fun to the residents by assisting with activities
- Arts and Crafts—inspire, motivate, and assist residents with ongoing projects
- Field Trips—accompany resident groups on fun outings in the community
- Pet Visits—put a smile on residents' faces when you ring your furry friend for a visit
- Specialty Parties—put your party hat on and help with event set-up, serve refreshments, and mingle with the residents
- Ice Cream Stand—the most popular place at Walker...the ice cream stand! Sell ice cream to residents, visitors, and staff
- Gift Shop—help make the Walker gift shop a great shopping experience by assisting shoppers, selling merchandise, and running the cash register
- Greenhouse—bring your green thumb to the Walker greenhouse
- Mail Delivery—deliver mail to residents on various floors
- Music Therapy—share your musical talents with residents
- Resident Companion—make a new friend in a Walker Methodist Health Center resident
- Church Escort—escort residents to the Walker Chapel for Worship Service
