On Saturday, June 6th we held our 10th annual 5k/10k around beautiful Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, MN. The sunshine, smiling faces, and contagious energy helped make the event both exciting and successful. We couldn’t have asked for a better day!
2015 5k/10k Event Recap
Every year, we hold a 5k and 10k run and walk to help raise money for the Walker Methodist Foundation. Runners and walkers of all abilities were welcome to participate in the event. There were many four-legged friends, strollers, and runners and walkers of all ages. This year we had over 500 participants ranging from ages two to 85.
The course around Lake Harriet is certified, electronically timed, and all participants received a Walker Methodist blue t-shirt for their participation. There were prizes awarded to the top female and male finishers in each respective age category.
Many of our residents from various Walker Methodist communities were able to join us at Lake Harriet and enjoy the event’s festivities. They were great cheerleaders and served as a heartfelt reminder of why so many of us gathered together on Saturday morning – to help seniors live life to the fullest.
