Wisconsin governor issues Safer At Home order

Sarah Benbow, Executive Director of Communications | Mar 24, 2020

Wisconsin governor Tony Evers issued a Safer at Home order, which takes effect Wednesday, March 25, 2020. It is set to end on April 24, 2020.

Coronavirus-1His orders require all non-essential business to close so that residents of Wisconsin will be more inclined to stay in their homes. As more people self-isolate, the spread of COVID-19 should slow, flattening the curve.

The governor’s order reinforces the work that Havenwood of Onalaska put into place earlier this month. The remainder of the state will be required to make similar efforts.

Havenwood of Onalaska, managed by Walker Methodist, will continue to ask residents to self-isolate in their apartments to help stop COVID-19 from entering or spreading within the community. We also ask that families continue to stay in contact with residents through phone calls and other digital means, but that they refrain from in-person visits. Families of residents are encouraged to bring groceries and other items to the front door, and the team will deliver door-to-door.

Havenwood of Onalaska will continue providing one-to-one activities, fitness instruction, and meal delivery to each resident. All residents on meal plans can continue ordering food anytime of the day by calling the culinary department.

We will continue to allow visitors who perform essential medical care, or for any end-of-life situations. These family members will undergo heightened active screenings upon entry.
