Servant leadership trait: Approaching challenges with a can-do attitude
What started as a temporary position at Walker Methodist Health Center has turned into a job that allows me to be part of something bigger than myself. Since I joined the team in 2021, I love knowing what I do makes lives better and supports people as they reach goals.
My daily responsibilities vary, but most of my time is spent advocating for residents, communicating with families, and brainstorming creative solutions. I love working with our amazing social services team. With almost a decade of experience in healthcare, I am known for collaborating with others to create fresh, focused solutions to tricky problems. I’m passionate about understanding what people are trying to say and helping them communicate that meaning to others. Whether I’m coordinating with business offices, improving processes and formalizing roles, or increasing the accessibility of social workers, I believe in pursuing goals and dreams fearlessly. In my role, I get to focus on serving residents and team members the best way possible, even if it means trying something new.
When I’m not at work, you can find me being creative (most recently, embroidery and watercolor) and spending time in nature (walking, hiking, and running). I also know how to run the mechanics of a bowling alley and was voted “most likely to host a talk show” twice.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of St. Thomas. I earned my Master’s degree in social work from Augsburg University, where I also received a human services management certificate.
Servant leadership trait: Inspiring others to serve well
Passionate about integrative health, my passion is to help others become and stay well. I do my best to prioritize the health and wellbeing of those I work with and serve. I joined the team at the Health Center in 2021, bringing more than two decades of experience.
My responsibilities include overseeing the health and nursing services at the Health Center. This can involve many things, and no two days are the same. I’m known for strengthening and motivating those on my team. I love coming to work and learning something new each day.
In my free time, I enjoy listening to live music with my husband. We love cooking, playing games, attending sporting events, and more with our two adult children and their spouses. We have two German Shepherd mixes, Murphy and Molly. I teach a graduate class at the University of Minnesota’s Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality and Healing. I’ve also consulted and taught at the Veteran Affairs Whole Health Program.
I completed the nursing mobility program and received my AND from St. Catherine’s University. I also earned my Bachelor’s degree in nursing. In 2012, I earned a Doctorate degree in nursing practice, specializing in integrative health, from the University of Minnesota.

Servant leadership trait: Being a reliable, helpful listener
Being a clinical liaison goes beyond assisting with admissions; it’s about truly listening to people, which brightens people’s day.
I’ve served older adults since 2004, and I bring experience as a patient transitional liaison and admissions coordinator. Those I work most closely with, including social workers, patients, and discharge planners, know that I find timely solutions and strive to make everyone’s life easier.
At the end of the day, I want everyone I’ve worked with to be satisfied. I hope people remember me as a helpful, reliable person who can fix problems.
I have a licensed practical nursing degree from Chippewa Valley Technical College. In my free time, I enjoy remodeling my home. I also love spending time with my five children (Kiah, Brooklynn, Jayce, Jacobi, and Janiyah) and my siblings. I also volunteer at parent meetings at my children’s school and daycare center.
