Reverend David Derksen, M. Div., BCC
Director of Spiritual Life & Enrichment
Rev. David Derksen joined Walker Methodist in March of 2016. As the Director of Spiritual Life & Enrichment, Rev. Derksen wears several hats. Pastorally, he makes one-on-one spiritual life visits, leads Bible studies, holds open meetings with prayer and reflections, educates new team members on the Spiritual Life department, and leads worship services. As an administrator, he watches the department’s budget and funding, coordinates spiritual life, and supports the Walker Methodist spiritual life team.
Rev. Derksen is most passionate about providing excellent spiritual life support, advocating for professional chaplaincy, and expanding his reach to enrich the lives of more people. It brings him great joy to be with people during sacred moments in their lives as well as to hear amazing stories. He is excited to continue his ministry to older adults as well as to be a part of the Walker Methodist family.
In his free time, Rev. Derksen spends time at the gym weight training. He enjoys hanging out at coffee shops drinking strong coffee, blogging, and surfing the internet. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. Rev. Derksen hopes to be remembered as a Godly man who left a legacy of love and integrity.
