Stride for Seniors

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How can I race virtually?

Can’t make the race in person? Virtual is the option for you. Virtual participants will receive a race box in the mail ahead of race day. Virtual participants can choose to walk or run their own distance anywhere they wish (the option to upload times will be available). Or a virtual participant can simply enjoy the contents of the race box while supporting older adults!

Sign up by May 20 to guarantee delivery of your race box by race day. Virtual race registrations will be accepted through race day.

Where does the race start?

Both races begin on the road next to the Lake Harriet Bandshell parking lot. Look for the banners. The announcer will begin asking runners and walkers to line up approximately 10 minutes before race start. The 10k starts at 9 a.m. and the 5k starts at 9:05 a.m.

Can I use a jogging stroller?

Yes. We ask people with strollers to start in the back for both races to avoid mishaps.

Are there water stations?

Yes. There are two water stations: one at Minnehaha/Lake Harriet parkways and one at the finish line. For runners and walkers of both races, this means there will be a water stop approximately every 1.5 miles. Bottled water is available after the race as well.

When and where is race packet pickup?

Packet pick-up starts at 8 a.m. on race day. Early pick-up time and location will be announced in April.

When is the last day to register?

Online registration is open until May 29th. On-site registration begins at 8 a.m. on race day near the bandshell. (We cannot guarantee that your preferred race t-shirt size will be available on race day.)

What is the cost?

$45 for 5k participants and $50 for 10k runners. Cost increases $5 on race day. For email updates, including promo codes, email foundation@walkermethodist.org

In the event the race is shortened or cancelled, all entry fees are nonrefundable.
