Servant leadership trait: Developing helpful, effective ideas
Since I have always desired to serve those around me, especially older adults, my path to Walker Methodist felt natural. Once I learned Walker’s mission and vision, I knew I’d find fulfillment serving with an organization that shared my values and ethics.
I joined the team in 2017. Specializing in program development, I have more than 30 years of experience working with people in various settings, most recently in the area of homelessness and housing, and am also recognized as a community leader. In 2008, I received the Anne E. Caser away for developing a family stabilization program for a community nonprofit; Hennepin County requested to model their programs after my project.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and community. I advise community boards on program designs and mentors community members experiencing addiction and homelessness. Passionate about working with people and respecting seniors, I am grateful to be part of the Walker team.
I earned my Master’s degree in leadership from Augsburg College.
Servant leadership trait: Hearing and validating others
From a young age, I’ve been drawn to connecting with and serving older adults. In college, I volunteered at senior living communities and knew I was where I wanted to be.
I joined the Walker team in 2021. Creating relationships with residents, I help them connect with services; support them in interactions with insurance, doctors, and more; and plan events and activities. Every day, I strive to build trust with others, assuring residents they are not alone. I love to help them stay independent and improve their wellbeing.
In my free time, you can find me camping, kayaking, or trying a new coffee shop.
I earned my degree in psychology and health communication from Bethany Lutheran College.
